Unstructured stick time can feel productive while reinforcing hurried or inconsistent movement. A practice plan creates a beginning, a repeatable exercise, and a clear point to stop.
Choose one control problem
Examples include holding a stable hover, moving through a box pattern, maintaining orientation after a slow turn, or landing on a consistent point. Keep the aircraft close enough that orientation remains obvious.
Use the same sequence
- Brief the exercise before takeoff.
- Fly it slowly in one orientation.
- Pause and identify what changed.
- Repeat only while attention and battery reserve remain comfortable.
Log one next step
After landing, record one thing that became easier and one thing to isolate during the next session. Progress is easier to see when the practice goal stays small enough to repeat.
